Background

The Fort Collins Coalition Action Network (FCCAN) is a community-based organization dedicated to furthering economic, social, and environmental justice, sustainability, human rights, and peace for all. I was commissioned to create an art piece to honor the organization’s newly established guiding values. Because FCCAN is committed to stewarding the land we occupy in Fort Collins, I chose to depict the values surrounded by native plant relatives. Through this project, I learned a lot about these plant species and about being in right relationship with community members. My full artist statement talks more about this journey!

Background

I worked with the Women’s March Foundation in 2016 to create a poster for the inaugural Women’s March. In 2021, they reached out to me to create a new set of posters in Spanish and English for a reproductive rights march being held in Los Angeles. The designs highlight floral elements intertwined with bold letter choices, showing that there is always beauty in strength.
